Beatles walking tours in London compared
Each is a London walking tour with one theme. They last 2 to 2.5 hours. All four walks include Abbey Road.
Richard Porter's Abbey Road tour covers central London and Soho. His Beatles In My Life walk starts at Marylebone. The Magical Mystery walk adds Savile Row and Trident Studios.
Expect to be on your feet for two hours or more. Most walks say they do not suit wheelchair users. Several need a Tube ride to Abbey Road, at your own cost.
Is there a Beatles bus tour?
Yes, A Ticket to Ride uses an air-conditioned minibus between the stops. Private Beatles tours by black cab exist too. They cost far more, since you pay for the whole cab.
Is there a free Beatles walk?
No free walk is sold here. The walks start from €24. The Abbey Road crossing is on a public street, so you can visit it on your own for free.
Abbey Road: the crossing and the studios
The crossing is a real zebra crossing on a public road. Cars still use it, so wait for a gap and keep photos quick. The nearest station is St John's Wood, says one walk listing.
The crossing has been a listed site since 2010, the list entry says. Abbey Road Studios is a working studio. It is normally closed to visitors.
The walks reach the crossing on foot after a Tube ride, and three of them say the fare is extra. Beatles In My Life rides the Tube to St John's Wood. A Ticket to Ride takes you there by minibus, then you walk across.
The Liverpool day trip: what it includes
The Liverpool day tour includes the return train from Euston. In Liverpool, you get a 2-hour Magical Mystery Tour bus. Entry to the Cavern Club and the Beatles Story is included.
Food is not included. There is no guide except on the bus tour. You have free time at the Albert Dock.
