Things to do in Camden Town

The top things to do in Camden Town are the market, the canal and a tour of the brewery. You can do all three in an afternoon.

For a guided food walk elsewhere in London, see our London food tours.

Camden Market: food and stalls

Camden Market calls itself “a melting pot of music, fashion, experiences and food”. The market is open daily from 10am to 7pm, bank holidays included.

The food halls stay open from 11.30am to 11pm every day. Each trader sets their own hours, so some close earlier.

A half day in Camden

Start with the market late in the morning, then eat at the food halls. Take the 90-minute canal boat in the afternoon.

Add the brewery tour, or stay for dinner in the food halls.

The Regent’s Canal boat ride from Camden Lock

The canal boat leaves from the Lock Keepers Cottage at Camden Lock and costs from €27 a person. Walkers Quay runs it.

The trip lasts 90 minutes on the Regent’s Canal. It passes London Zoo and Regent’s Park on the way to Little Venice.

When to go

Camden Market is open every day, so you are not tied to the weekend. The market opens at 10am.

Camden Town station is about 5 minutes’ walk from the market, Camden Road about 8 and Chalk Farm about 10. Buses 24, 214, 274 and 393 stop nearby.

Camden or Borough Market?

Pick Camden for street food, shops, the canal and a late meal.

Borough Market is better for tasting tours.
