Kensington Palace tickets and prices

The entrance ticket here starts from €16, with free cancellation. It is sold by Historic Royal Palaces, the charity that runs the palace.

On the official site, an adult ticket is £24.70 without a donation. Adults 65 and over and full-time students pay £20.00. Children 5 to 15 pay £12.40, and under 5s go free.

Booking works much like Tower of London tickets: buy online for your day, then show your ticket at the door.

Opening times

The palace opens Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00, the palace says. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Winter hours can change; check the palace site before you go.

What is closed until spring 2027

The Queen's State Apartments are closed until spring 2027 for major work. The King's Gallery closes from 18 November 2026 until spring 2027 for roof repairs.

Kensington Palace tour or ticket only

For most people, the ticket alone is enough. It comes with an audio guide, so you can explore at your own pace.

A tour suits you if you want a live guide. The Westminster walk includes palace entry. The Royal Kensington walk does not, so add a ticket if you want to go in.

The gardens around the palace

The palace sits in Kensington Gardens. The Sunken Garden and upper grounds open daily from 10:00 to 18:00.

The afternoon tea pick starts with a guided walk through the gardens. It names the water features and the flower beds.

For another palace day out, see Hampton Court Palace.

Every pick shows free cancellation on GetYourGuide. Check the exact cut-off on the listing.

  3. Pick the right day

The palace is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Plan your visit for Wednesday to Sunday.
