Luminiscence at Westminster Cathedral: what the show is

Luminiscence is a 360° light-and-sound show inside the cathedral. Video is projected across the walls and ceiling while a choir sings.

You sit for about 50 minutes. The story is written by Tim Whitnall and voiced by Hugh Bonneville. The Lux Aeterna choir sings music by Beethoven, Vivaldi, Bach and others.

It is not a tour of the cathedral, and there is no guide. It is a concert with pictures.

Is it worth €34?

It is worth it if you like choral music and big visual shows. It starts from €34 for 50 minutes.

Skip it if you only want to see the building. The cathedral is free, every day.

Run dates and the Christmas edition

The show runs to the end of January 2027; check your date.

From 25 November to 2 January there is a Christmas edition with an extra festive part. Some December dates add a live orchestra.

It is a Catholic cathedral, so Mass is said every day. Mass times are on the cathedral's website.

The bell tower viewing gallery is closed for now. Check the cathedral's site before you go.
