Which stadium tour to pick

Pick the club you love first. If you have no club, the Chelsea tour or the full Wembley tour is a safe choice.

For the most behind-the-scenes time, the Arsenal legend tour is the pick. For old-ground charm, take Craven Cottage.

Arsenal: the Emirates Stadium tour

Yes, you can tour Arsenal's stadium. The legend tour here starts from €66 and takes 1.5 hours.

Arsenal also sells a plain self-guided tour from £34 an adult on its own site. It uses a handset in 7 languages and includes the museum.

Chelsea: Stamford Bridge

The Chelsea stadium and museum tour starts from €41 here. On the official site it costs £34 an adult if you book ahead, or £38 on the day.

The classic tour is longer, from €50 here or £49 on the official site. The standard tour takes about an hour; with the museum, allow about 2 hours.

Wembley Stadium tour

The full Wembley tour starts from €30 and takes 2 hours, with about 75 minutes guided. The express tour starts from €18 but skips the player areas for now.

Tours open at 10am. The last entry is 3pm from October to March, 4pm from April to July and in September, and 5pm in August.

When the tours run

Tours can change on match and event days. Pick a date with no game if you can.

Arsenal says match days change its tour hours. The Arsenal match package even lists the stadium tour as non-match days only.

Wembley's express tour skips the dressing rooms and tunnel for now, because of an event. Check your date on each listing.

Want a game instead? Compare Chelsea tickets and other London match packages.

Extra costs on the day

Most tours include the stadium and a guide or device. A few things cost extra.

  • Photos: Spurs sells photos at an extra cost.
  • Food and drinks: extra at Spurs, Wembley and Craven Cottage.
  • Tips: not included on the Wembley tour.
  • Museum guide: the Chelsea museum is included, but its guided tour is not.

Getting to Wembley

Take the Tube to Wembley Park, on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines. It is about 600 metres from the stadium.

The tour entrance is on level 1, behind the Bobby Moore statue. Bags are searched, and there is no cloakroom.

For the rest of your trip, see our guide to getting around London.

Before you book a stadium tour

  1. Avoid match days

Tours can change on match and event days. Check the date before you pay.

  2. Travel light

Wembley searches all bags and has no cloakroom. Leave big bags at your hotel.

  3. Check the age line

The Chelsea classic tour does not suit children under 12. Craven Cottage does not suit wheelchair users.

  4. Free cancellation

All eight tours here have free cancellation. That helps if a match moves to your date.
